Pangea World Theater joins thousands of organizations, artists and human rights defenders worldwide in calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and we echo the urgent calls for universal respect for humanitarian and international law.
Pangea stands in solidarity with the people of Palestine and Gaza in their pleas for dignity and freedom from occupation and apartheid. We are alarmed by the wanton destruction of human life and the concerns expressed by experts in the field about the unfolding of a genocide in Gaza. We stand with millions of people around the world of all faiths, races and nationalities calling for peace with justice and equality for all.
As our mission statement says, "Pangea World Theater strives to build a just world by creating multi-disciplinary theater that embodies decolonizing practices of solidarity, sustainability and equity." Pangea World Theater puts into practice every day that mission and has for over a quarter century been committed to holding up voices of artists from around the globe who do the same. We stand firmly with our allies and colleagues in the Twin cities, the country and around the globe against all forms of discrimination and exploitation, whether racism, classism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, ageism or discrimination against our LQBTQ+ community.
We reiterate our commitment to dialogue and using art to build communities and cultures of care that can help generate futures of peace and sustainability for all human beings and for the environment.
