Ancestor Vessel

Pottery workshops with Sayge Carroll

Participants joined Mudluk Pottery and Pangea World Theater for a unique workshop to create a hand built clay Ancestor Vessel.

Each participant brought an image of an ancestor to work with. We gathered and shared who/why we brought our particular beloved into the space.

Artist Sayge Caroll of Mudluk Pottery guided us through the process of creating a small vessel. All the vessels were be fired and the images were transferred directly onto vessels by Mudluk Pottery.

Writing Our Memory into Being

Writing workshop with Venus DeMars and Anthony Ceballos

Anthony Ceballos and Venus DeMars invited people into a lively discussion revolving around creative writing and the act of memory recall and excavation. Through workshop discussion, prompts, and a bit of open writing time, participants had the opportunity to write a piece of either creative nonfiction or poetry based in memory.
