Pangea World Theater’s Center for Peace and Justice

Pangea World Theater is set to become the first immigrant- and people of color-led theater in Minneapolis-Saint Paul to own our own space for performance and operations at 3020 Minnehaha Avenue.

This renovated space in the heart of the winter 2026 federal government I.C.E. patrols during "operation metro surge" and is the site of the 2020 uprising following the murder of George Floyd when BIPOC and immigrant-led businesses were destroyed along with the former Minneapolis Police Third Precinct. We are joining together with our neighbors to rebuild and reclaim this vibrant area.

Pangea is creating a place of peace, justice, and belonging for all – lifelong Minnesotans, immigrants, and anyone who has been called “other,” “alien,” or an outsider. It is space to bring together artists and audiences focused on work that encourages real conversations across race, class and gender. In these times, this work is more important than ever. Pangea and artists of all backgrounds are creating work that animates and documents democracy through personal stories and cultural traditions from around the world.

Successful Campaign Sets Stage For Phase Two Theater Expansion

Pangea has deep roots in and a broad vision for the neighborhood. When we raise the $6 million needed for our home at 3020 Minnehaha Avenue, we will start on the Phase Two theater expansion. The expansion will be attached to our new home on adjacent property. It will use a biophilic design that rests lightly on the land and gives back to the community through solar, geothermal, and water reclamation systems. The expanded space will house a 200-seat theater, public space, and support functions for theater operations.
