About

Pangea World Theater presents the midwest regional premiere of TeAda Productions'

"Masters of the Currents"

The first nationally touring play about Micronesians in the U.S.

Created by Leilani Chan and Ova Saopeng

How do we uphold culture? How much do we have to give up to assimilate? Follow three Micronesian youth on their journey of identity growing up in Hawai'i, and the conflicts they must overcome to be accepted by their peers while still holding on to the history and rich cultural traditions of their ancestral islands of Micronesia. As sea levels rise and political tensions escalate creating new refugees, worlds of culture collide. When we get there, whatever side of the shore we are on, we must remember that we are all on the same boat.
