About

The Burning Truth Project is a 90-minute performance that weaves together songs and story with a space to share and reflect some of the many thoughts, lessons and feelings we have been holding as a community since summer of 2020. We invite you to join us as we once again share what we have discussed and discovered together, in the Burning Truth Project. Presented as a part of Pangea World Theater's "Another World is Possible: Pangea Artists Envision" series.

Free and open to the public; registration required.

Donations accepted and appreciated through Pangea World Theater.

*These shows will be held outside. Some limited seating options will be available onsite, so please bring camp-chairs or blankets if you are able.

To access the indoor space/bathrooms at Eastside Freedom Library, please be prepared to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within the previous 72 hours. Proof of vaccination/negative test are NOT required to attend the outdoor shows.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The first Burning Truth Project — a cabaret inspired evening of story and song — was originally presented in the summer of 2020 with a focus on responding to the murder of George Floyd and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This summer, we are re-mounting Burning Truth Project to continue this musical conversation and response to the events and circumstances in our city and around the globe. We still have truths burning within us, waiting to be expressed.

Created and performed by vocalists Andrina Brogden, Katia Cardenas and Sarah M. Greer. Accompaniment by Theo Brown on keys, Miguel Hurtado on drums, and Nii Mensah on bass. Original artwork by Jordan M. Hamilton.

Many thanks to our collaborators: Pangea World Theater (whose Another World is Possible series sparked the first iteration of BPT), Eastside Freedom Library, and Walker|West Music Academy.
