No Expiration Date: Sexuality & Aging is a theatrical interpretation of the qualitative data from a study conducted by Drs. Sara Mize and Alex Iantaffi at the Program in Human Sexuality at the University of Minnesota. The play was scripted by Pangea World Theater’s Executive/Literary Director Meena Natarajan from the focus group narratives of 61 seniors of diverse backgrounds and sexual orientations who were gathered to discuss their experiences of sexuality and aging.
With heart, humor, compassion, and unabashed directness, No Expiration Date: Sexuality & Aging explores the challenges and triumphs associated with aging sex and invites the audience to consider the role of mindfulness. A heartwarming, funny, poignant, naughty, illuminating, inspiring and thought-provoking theatrical experience with a diverse cast, it shows that there is a whole lot to learn from our elders’ experiences in spite of our youth-obsessed media and culture.
