Open Ensemble

As a part of our Lake Street Arts! initiative, Pangea’s ensemble welcomes artists, activists, and community members into our learning circle during Open Ensemble. Each month, we open company rehearsals and bring performance skill-building trainings to community.  Join Us!

Kalaripayattu (Kalari) is a martial arts form originating in India. The workshop emphasizes breath, stamina, and mental focus. Pangea offers this unique opportunity to participate in one of the oldest martial art forms in existence practiced since the second century B.C.

Pleased to welcome guest artist Mira Kehoe to lead this month's Open Ensemble, which will offer a creative exploration of vocal work. Take a look at Mira's bio:Mira Kehoe has coached at several area theaters including the Children's Theater, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Theatre Mu, The Jungle, Minnesota Opera, North Star Opera, over 80 productions at the Guthrie Theater; and at Brooklyn Academy of Music in NY. She teaches acting and voice at Hamline University, and has taught voice, speech, dialects and acting at the University of Minnesota, the University of Utah, and at the Guthrie Theater. She has a broad background in movement for the actor, having studied both Alexander and Feldenkrais work, martial arts, yoga, Pilates, and many forms of dance and expressive movement. Mira teaches singing, speech and dialects in her private studio, and consults with individuals, theaters, and schools, as well as corporations. She performs jazz and Brazilian music with Tom Kehoe.
