Since March 2020, Pangea World Theater has prioritized the safety of our audiences, artists, and staff in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic by making this choice: we will only produce work outdoors and online, until safety permits.
However, at Pangea, we have been no stranger to outdoor theater or other non-traditional venues. Since our inception, we presented work in culturally accessible venues such as Plaza Centenario, in local parks, and at street festivals. This is how we redefine and decolonize theater. We remember that for many of us from non-European cultures, theater is a sacred experience between an artist and the audience.
In May 2021, at Hidden Falls Regional Park just off the Mississippi River, we produced The Missouri River Water Walk.
